MLB Pick Of The Day – Rockies @ Marlins – Run Totals Are Hot

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

FiveStarPick.com is hot on the totals in tonight’s Dolphin Stadium match-up between the Colorado Rockies and the Florida Marlins.  Since becoming a major league expansion team, the Marlins have always been one of the surprise teams in the National League.  Despite having no fan base and the smallest payroll in baseball ($22M), the Marlins are in a prime position to win their division and hopefully go deep into the playoffs with hot bats and a great pitching staff.  Having said that, the small payroll might get a bit bigger after tonight’s game.  Rumors are swirling out of control about the potential acquisition of slugger Manny Ramirez from Boston and the question remains can the Marlins stay focused as they open a 4-game series against the Colorado Rockies.  If Manny comes aboard he will make as much as the entire Marlin’s roster combined.

In a highly criticized Marlins off-season trade move, Dontrelle Willis and leading run producer Miguel Cabrera were sent packing to clear additional room on their payroll and it worked.  Willis was sent back to the minors and the Marlins starters have picked up the slack in run production.  The Marlins (57-51) front office is proud of the work they have done creating wins using no-name talent.

Florida will start Anibal Sanchez (2-1, 4.80 ERA) tonight.  This will be Sanchez’s first start since recovering from shoulder surgery 3 months ago.  He lost to the Mets on May 2nd and he has never faced the sweet swinging bats of Colorado.

The Rockies (49-60) bats have been the catalyst in winning 10 of 13 games since the All-Star break and they will counter tonight with Jorge De La Rosa (5-5, 6.20) on the mound.  De La Rosa has won back-to-back starts for the first time this season and only gave up 1 run in Saturday’s outing against the Cincinnati Reds.  He’s 1-2 with an 8.64 ERA in four career games against the Marlins.

So that’s a lot of useless information I just gave you…or is it?  Does the ‘run total’ go over or under in tonight’s match-up.  FiveStarPick.com has the answer, but nothing is free in this world.  If it was, it wouldn’t be worth anything.  We are the most accurate sports handicapping service on the net and one of the only services that allows non-members to monitor our daily plays on the home page.  Betting on baseball can be difficult, but if you follow our daily plays to the letter, your bookie will pay…and pay dearly.  Join today and start your winning streak tonight.

MLB Pick Of The Day – Phillies @ Nationals – Money Line Covers

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

FiveStarPick.com is hot on the Money Line in tonight’s match-up between the Phillies and Nationals.  The Phillies have been looking sluggish in their last few outings and were barely able to beat the crappy Washington Nationals last night.  Philadelphia is trying for their 4th straight victory but will have to beat Nationals hurler Tim Redding to do it.  Even though Redding has been getting rocked by Utley this year, he’s dominated the Phillies all season long.  Believe it or not, Redding has only allowed eight hits in 13 1/3 scoreless innings and has come up victorious in both of his outings against Philly.  Redding is 4-2 with a 2.34 ERA in nine career starts versus Philadelphia, but takes the mound after a hard 1-0 loss in his last outing against the San Francisco Giants.

Philadelphia will be starting Jamie Moyer (9-6, 3.76), a man trying for his third straight winning decision. Moyer, a south-paw, has allowed a run and two hits in seven innings, but earned a no-decision in Philadelphia’s 3-1 road loss to the Mets Thursday night.  Moyer is 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA in his last three starts and is 9-4 with a 2.95 ERA in 19 starts versus the Nationals.

So who covers the spread in tonight’s game?  Look to FiveStarPick.com for the answer.  We are nearly 70% against the spread in 2008 and look forward to another win tonight.  Joining our family is easy.  Just click here www.fivestarpick.com and select a membership option.  Soon you we realize that no one gives more MLB winners than FiveStarPick.com.  Betting on baseball is not easy; it requires research, patience and the ability to understand stats and trends.  Let us make a believer out of you.  Join us today and start your winning streak tonight.

MLB Pick Of The Day – Cubs @ Brewers – Look At The Run Totals

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

FiveStarPick.com is hot on the ‘run totals’ in tonight’s Cubs/Brewers match-up.  Betting on baseball is not easy, so look to the pros at FiveStar for your next winner.

Vegas has listed the Brewers as a -120 home ‘chaulk’ over Chicago with the ‘run total’ listed at 7.5.  After Thursday’s victory over the Marlins as a -210 home favorite, the Cubbies Carlos Zambrano (11-4, 2.96 ERA) looks forward to being the starter against the Brewers’ All-Star starter Ben Sheets.  The 27 year old Zambrano has two (2) no decisions against the Brewers in 2008 and has allowed just 1 run on 10 hits with three walks and eight strikeouts. The Cubs lost both games as home favorites.

Milwaukee is excited about starting their ace, Ben Sheets (10-3, 2.87 ERA). Ben had a no-decision in his last outing against St. Louis last Thursday.  The right-hander gave up three runs (two earned) on four hits with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts.  The Brewers eventually held off the Cardinals and won as a -120 home favorite and the ‘under 8′ cashed in for totals bettors.  The ‘over’ has cashed his previous three outings.

Does the ‘over’ or the ‘under’ cash in today’s game?  FiveStarPick.com has the answer.  Click here www.fivestarpick.com and monitor the daily plays from our homepage.  You will quickly see that our talent for picking MLB winners is off the charts.  MLB picks are not easy, but FiveStarPick.com’s proprietary sports handicapping software program coupled with two of the top sports handicappers in the business have proven a winning combination at nearly 70% against the spread.  You owe it to yourself to become a member of our family.  Join today and start winning tonight.

MLB Pick Of The Day – Orioles @ Yankees – Run Totals

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Betting on baseball is not easy, so let FiveStarPick.com take some of the pressure off this baseball season.

The Yankees have been on a tear since the All-Star break and they are well on their way to making another run towards their 14th playoff appearance.  The Yankees are trying to capture their 11th straight win when they face the last place Orioles tonight at 7:05 PM EST.  The Yankees (58-46) started off the season in a slump dropping 2 of 3 to the Orioles May 26-28 and believe it or not were in the cellar in the AL East.

Mike Mussina (13-6, 3.26 ERA) will get the start in tonight’s game. The Mussina of late has only allowed one run in 14 innings and has an ERA just above 1.

Baltimore start a 9 game road trip tonight and is sitting 12 games out of first place.  Jeremy Guthrie (6-8, 3.58 ERA) will start for Baltimore.  The Yankees pounded Guthrie on May 28th for three runs and six hits in seven innings of work in a losing battle.

So does the ‘run total’ go over or under in tonight’s game?  FiveStarPick.com has the answer.  Click here www.fivestarpick.com and monitor our daily plays.  See if our talent for picking winners exceeds your expectations.  Buy a two-day membership for only $14.99 and you will get a sampling of how our service works.  Join today and start winning tonight.
