Suns @ Lakers – Game 2 NBA Conference Finals Picks Against The Spread

The pros at FiveStarPick.com are on track for one of the best seasons against the spread in years.  The wins keep on coming, the tickets keep on cashing and the fun is off the charts for all of us here in Vegas.  Last night we gave our members the Celtics +7 and the Over 8 Runs in the Angels/Rangers game.  Both winners.  Tonight we are only playing one game on the board and its Game 2 of the NBA Western Conference Finals.  Las Vegas sportsbooks list the Lakers as 7-point home favorites with a total of 215.

After the LeBron elimination, the Lakers became the odds-on favorites to win the NBA Finals here in Las Vegas. The Lakers have certainly looked like a favorite, winning seven in a row, including Game 1 over Phoenix on Monday.  We gave our members the Lakers -6 and sportsbooks spewed out cash all over the country because of us…and nothing makes us happier.

Los Angeles crushed the Suns 128-107 in Game 1 behind a 40-point night from Kobe Bryant.  Bryant went 13 for 23 from the field and 11-of-12 from the line, 21 of those points coming in the third quarter. The Suns tried to stop Bryant defensively with Grant Hill but he was no match. It was the sixth straight playoff game that Bryant has posted at least 30 points. The Lakers shot 58 percent from the field and 18-of-22 from the line as a team. Lamar Odom stole the show off the bench with a playoff-high 19 points and 19 boards, including seven offensive rebounds.

The Suns’ defense could do nothing to stop Kobe in Game 1, but the offense was solid scoring 107 points and shooting 49 percent from the field. Amar’e Stoudemire led the team with 23 points but the former MVP, Steve Nash, wasn’t that great in Game 1.  He only produced 13 points and 13 assists.  Nash will need to step up his presence in Game 2 to have a chance.

Even though Los Angeles led by as many as 28 and wound up posting the 21-point victory in Game 1, history has shown that teams tend to bounce back off blowout losses, especially in the conference finals.  In fact, teams off a point-spread loss of more than 10 points are a very profitable 37-20-1 (65%) Against The Spread in the playoffs.

The total for Game 1 closed at 211 and the combined 235 points easily went ‘over’ the number. For Game 2, the books have adjusted the number up to 215.

TNT will provide national coverage beginning at 9:00 p.m. EDT.
