NBA Playoff Picks Game 3 – Cavaliers @ Magic – Covering The Spread

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

FiveStarPick.com continues to light it up for our members winning 7 of our last 8 tilts against the spread.  It’s not by luck mind you, but by statistical probability…and we are geniuses at figuring out statistical probability.  The NBA Playoffs are coming to a close quickly, so don’t miss out on another winner by sitting on the sidelines and flipping a coin.  The focus of this preview is tonight’s Eastern Conference clash between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic.  Las Vegas sportsbooks list the Magic as 1.5-point home favorites with the total coming in around 190.

The Cavaliers won Game 2, 96-95, on a last second buzzer beating 3 launched by who else…LeBron.  The last-second play was designed to be a lob to the basket but Orlando defended it well and James had to improvise.  That shot will be replayed well into the future as one of the top 10 clutch shots in NBA history.  James led the team in scoring for the second straight game with 35 points, a mere mortal performace compared to the 49 he dropped in Game 1’s loss on Wednesday.

While Cleveland has relied heavily on LeBron, the Magic have three scorers to rely on with Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu. Turkoglu finished with 21 points in Game 2 and almost stole the show after his last shot gave the Cavs a 95-93 lead.

After going 7-1 against the spread and winning every contest by double digits in their first eight playoff games, Cleveland has failed to cover in their last two.  For the first time in a long while, the Cavs are underdogs in a playoff game.

Now let’s talk trends…Cleveland dominated the Pistons and Hawks in the first two playoff rounds on the road, which produced a 4-0 SU and 3-1 against the spread record, only failing to cover the spread by a point in Game 4 in Atlanta.  Orlando has gone 4-2 both SU and against the spread at home in the playoffs, losing both games on buzzer beaters.  Cleveland owns a record of 4-6 against the spread as a road underdog in this year’s playoffs, while Orlando is 10-4 against the spread as a home favorite of six points or less.

So what does all this mean?  Who will cover the spread tonight?  It is not your job to analyze these stats and trends, it’s ours.  This is our life and our living.  Let FiveStarPick.com take away the guesswork in the NBA Conference Finals and provide you with winning NBA Conference Finals Picks that beat the spread and get results.  We are consistently providing over 3000 members with NBA Picks that cover the spread and get results.  If you’re skeptical, monitor our plays from our homepage and see if our talent for picking winners exceeds your expectations.  Or join for two days…it’s only $19.99.  Join our family today and start winning tonight.

NBA Playoff Picks Game 2 – Magic @ Cavaliers – Cover The Spread

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

FiveStarPick.com is heating up!  Our members have enjoyed against the spread winners in 25 out of our last 32 plays and tonight we give them against the spread and total winners in Game 2 of the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals as the Orlando Magic take on the Cleveland Cavaliers.  Las Vegas sportsbooks list the Cavaliers as 9-point home favorites with a total of 188.

Orlando rallied from a 15-point defecit at halftime to win Game 1 in Cleveland, 107-106.  Veteran forward Rashard Lewis hit a game-winning 3-pointer with 15 seconds left to seal the victory.  Mo Williams had a last second chance to answer at the buzzer after a jump ball, but missed allowing the Magic to take a 1-0 series lead.

For the Magic, Dwight Howard was in All-Star from with 30 points and 13 rebounds before fouling out in the final minute. Lewis added 22 points and grabbed seven boards, knocking down 9-of-13 attempts from the field.

On the other side of the floor, King James dropped 49 points, eight assists, six rebounds, three blocked shots and a pair of steals on the Magic in the loss. His 3-point play put the Cavs in front 106-104 with 26 seconds remaining, but Rashard Lewis stole his thunder with his 3-point bomb at the other end of the court.

The victory was Orlando’s third over the Cavs in four head-to-head meetings this season.  Mike Brown’s team is going to have to make a number of defensive adjustments if they want to win Game 2.  Lewis is too quick off the dribble for Anderson Varejao and Brown might have to use James to guard Lewis or Turkoglu, an option he doesn’t want to fall back to because he wants James to save his energy for the offensive end and continue to play great defense when leaving his man to help.

NBA Playoff Picks Game 4 – Cavaliers @ Hawks – Cover The Spread

Monday, May 11th, 2009

The pros at Fivestarpick.com will be giving our members a great pick against the spread tonight as we handicap Game 4 of the NBA’s Eastern Conference Semi-Final between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Atlanta Hawks.  Las Vegas sportsbooks list the Cavaliers as 10-point road favorites with a total of 182.

We think bettors will probably be surprised to see the Hawks as double digit home dogs in an elimination game, but let’s take a look back at last year’s first round series.  Atlanta won two games at home against Boston, yet they were still eight to nine point dogs in all three of their games.  The Cavaliers are playing at a much higher level than the Celtics right now, so the number is probably on the mark.

The oddsmakers have been very sharp with the ‘totals’ in this best-of-seven series.  The ‘under’ has gone 2-1 in the first three games, but if it were not for the Hawks inconsistent scoring, the ‘over’ could very well be 3-0.

Cleveland is a very impressive 5-2 SU and 4-3 Against The Spread in their last eight trips to Atlanta. The Cavaliers are 21-13 Against The Spread as road favorites this year.  The Hawks have been listed as home underdogs seven times this year and the club has responded with a 5-2 Against The Spread record.  In tonight’s game 4, oddsmakers will hand the Hawks the largest number of points they have seen all season.

The Hawks’ Joe Johnson has been playing on a bum ankle, but still managed to score 21 points in the Game 3 loss.  Josh Smith added 18 and Flip Murray put in 17, but it still was not enought against LeBron and the Cavs. The trio accounted for almost 70 percent of the Hawks scoring in Game 3.  If the Hawks have any chance of winning Game 3, they will need more production off the bench.

So what does all this mean?  It is not your job to analyze these stats and trends, it’s ours.  This is our life and our living.  Let FiveStarPick.com take away the guesswork this NBA Playoffs and provide you with winning NBA Playoff Picks that beat the spread and get results.  We are consistently providing over 3000 members with NBA Picks that cover the spread and get results.  If you’re skeptical, monitor our plays from our homepage and see if our talent for picking winners exceeds your expectations.  Join our family today and start winning tonight.

NBA Playoff Picks – Cavaliers @ Pistons – Cover The Spread

Friday, April 24th, 2009

FiveStarPick.com will be giving its members against the spread winners in 3 matchups today.  The focus of today’s preview is the Game 3 faceoff between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Detroit Pistons.  Las Vegas sportsbooks list the Cavaliers (68-16 straight up, 52-32 against the spread) as 4-point favorites with a total set at 177.

Cleveland took a 2-0 lead over Detroit by winning 94-82 as an 11-point favorite in Game 2.  The Cavs led by 29 at one point, but decided to put in their scrubs and allowed the Pistons to pull within seven late in the fourth quarter.  The Cavs still covered the spread as Detroit missed three easy shots for a backdoor cover on the final possession.  LeBron James had 29 points, 13 rebounds and six assists in Game 2.  Mo Williams added 21 points and seven assists and Delonte West was the Cavs 3rd leading scorer with 20 points.

Detroit (39-45 SU, 34-50 ATS) in hindsight made a huge mistake trading Chauncey Billups to Denver for Allen Iverson and then Ben Wallace to the Cavs.  Rasheed Wallace and Richard Hamilton are ageing and Rodney Stuckey doesn’t appear to be enough to keep pace with the top-seeded Cavs.  The Pistons are just 21-20 straight up at the Palace of Auburn Hills and 13-28 against the spread.  Not so good.

Who covers the spread tonight?  We think that it is time you turn your NBA Picks over to the experts.  It is not your job to research stats, trends and injury reports.  It’s ours.
