NFL Thursday Night Football Picks – Saints @ Bears – Who Covers The Spread

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

The 2008 College and Pro football season is nearing a close.  Don’t miss out on another FiveStarPick.com win streak in both the College Football Bowls and the NFL Playoffs.  Winning at sports gambling is not easy…you owe it to yourself to get an edge and join the over 2300 FiveStarPick.com members who are collecting this year from their bookies.  Ok, ok…enough with the sales pitch.  Read below for a preview of tonight’s matchup between the New Orleans Saints and the Chicago Bears.

Las Vegas sports books have listed Chicago as 3-point home favorites with the total set at 46.  New Orleans (7-6 straight up, 9-4 against the spread) has a wining record, but finds itself in the cellar of the NFC South with a 1-5 SU and 3-3 ATS road record. The Saints have to win two of their final three games to have any shot at making the postseason.  New Orleans outlasted NFC South rival Atlanta last weekend as a three-point home favorite, 29-25. The combined 54 points went over the 51-point closing total.  The Saints were trailing before outscoring the Falcons in the fourth quarter, 13-8.

Chicago (7-6 SU, 6-6 ATS) is one game out of the NFC North lead, and still has a realistic shot of winning the division. The Bears are 4-2 SU and 3-3 ATS at home and the over has gone 4-2 in those 6 games.  Chicago upended Jacksonville last weekend as a 6.5-point home favorite, 23-10. The combined 33 points cashed the under for bettors and never seriously threatened the 40-point closing total.

Chicago is 3-0 SU and 2-0-1 ATS in their three previous outings with New Orleans after prevailing last season as a home pick’em, 33-25.  The Bears and Saints met on this field during the 2006-07 postseason, with Chicago rolling in the NFC Championship Game as a three-point home favorite, 39-14. The combined 53 points in that matchup cashed the over 43 for bettors.

So who covers the spread in tonight’s game?  FiveStarPick.com is here to help. Aren’t you tired of getting cold called by services that tell you about their 750,000 star play that’s a guaranteed winner. Here is a bit of advice…NOTHING is guaranteed when you are betting on sports.  These so called “handicappers” call 500 people on a Saturday morning and give them all a free play; 250 people will get the Bears -3 and 250 will get the Saints +3.  After the game ends, they call back the 250 people who won and pitch them on charging thousands of dollars to their credit cards for more guaranteed winners.   We are not your typical sports handicapping service.  We care about our members and we live and die on every play. Why?  Because we are moving thousands of dollars of our own money on the same plays we give you. Gambling on sports is how we make our living.  Do we win every play?  Absolutely not and we will never pretend to.  Our plays are always posted for all to see, including our losing streaks. But by the end of the year we always seem to have a few hundred thousand dollars of the sportsbook’s money in our casino account.  Let us try and do the same for you.  Join our family of winners today and start your winning streak tonight.

NFL Pick Of The Day – Bears @ Lions – Who Covers The Spread

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

FiveStarPick.com has been crunching stats, trends and injury reports since last Tuesday and we are looking forward to making some dollars this week.  This is a special week… we have handicapped the entire NFL today, but the focus of today’s NFL Pick Of The Day is the game between the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions.

The Lions have really sucked this year. Last week they lost 31-13 to San Francisco and are now 1-10 against the spread in their last 11 games. The Bears have lost their last two against the Lions, but look to right the ship when they kick-off in Motown at 1PM EDT.

The Lions QB Jon Kitna has only passed for 5 TDs this year.  He also has 5 INTs.  The Lions offense has gained a total of 235 yards on the ground this season and only has one score.  Not good.

The Bears, on the other hand, are 8-3 ATS in their last few October’s, but their passing game needs some work averaging just 175.5 YPG on the season. The Bears’ QB Kyle Orton has 4 INTs along with two fumbles.

See if you can comprehend this trend…After a win and heading into a game versus an opponent off back-to-back losses, Chicago’s head coach, Lovie Smith, is a dreadful 1-8-1 ATS. Couple the underdog going 7-1 ATS in the last eight head-to-head contests between these two teams and you don’t know what to pick.

So who covers the spread in today’s game?  Why not let FiveStarPick.com help you with the answer?  Aren’t you tired of getting cold called by services that tell you about their 750,000 star play that’s a guaranteed winner.
