NFL Monday Night Football Picks – Panthers @ Cowboys – Who Covers The Spread

Monday, September 28th, 2009

The pros at FiveStarPick.com are coming off a monster weekend in college and pro football.  Yesterday added to the cashflow substantially as we gave our over 3000 members the Eagles -7, Colts +3, Colts/Cards Under 48.5 and a two team parlay in the Sunday night game.  Our dime bettors had a $5,600 day.  Today we are giving our members the winner of tonight’s Monday Night Football game as the Carolina Panthers take on the Dallas Cowboys.  Las Vegas sportsbooks list the Cowboys as 8.5 point home favorites with a total of 48.

The first Monday Night Football Game in the new Cowboys Stadium happens tonight, as 1-1 Dallas hosts winless Carolina. Last Sunday night in the home opener, Romo threw three interceptions in the two-point loss to the Giants. Dallas failed to cover as three-point favorites.

Carolina, meanwhile, is really in a bad funk. Not only are they 0-2, but went 0-4 in the preseason.  The Panthers have lost to two of last year’s playoff teams so far in the Eagles and Falcons.  Jake Dellhome completed 11 passes against Philadelphia, but four of them were to players in Eagles’ uniforms.  The Panthers committed seven turnovers in the opener, despite allowing less than 300 yards to Philadelphia.  Carolina was then defeated on the road in Atlanta, 28-20, not covering the spread as six-point dogs.

For the third straight week, the Panthers will be listed as ‘dogs;  which is weird because Carolina has always been known as a great road ‘dog play going 22-7-1 ATS from 2002-2006. Since the start of the 2007 season, the Panthers are just 5-8 against the spread when receiving points on the road.

Cowboys’ RB Marion Barber is listed as ‘questionable’ with a strained quad, so look for Felix Jones and Tashard Choice to shoulder the load.

This is the first trip to Dallas for the Panthers since 2003.  The Cowboys won a 24-20 decision as three-point home favorites.  Dallas has won each of the last three outings in Charlotte, with the last meeting coming in 2007.

Now let’s talk trends…The Cowboys are 1-5 against the spread on Monday Night since 2005, with the lone spread win coming as dogs at Philly in a 21-20 victory in ‘05.  The Panthers are 2-3 against the spread on Monday Nights since Fox became the head coach.

So who covers the spread in tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup?  It’s very easy to find out.  Try FiveStarPick.com tonight for just ($19.99) and see if our talent for picking college and pro football winners exceeds your expectations.  We are the only sports handicapping service in the business who documents wins and losses and displays them on our homepage for all to witness.  It’s because we have nothing to hide…we just win games against the spread.  Join our family today and start your winning streak tonight.

NFL Sunday Night Football Pick – Giants @ Cowboys – Who Covers The Spread

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

FiveStarPick is closing in on another 400 win season as we give our members the winners of 5 NFL games today.  As we near the NFL Playoffs and the 2008 College Football Bowl Season, it is imperative that you look to FiveStarPick.com for advice on how to play these games.  Today we will preview tonight’s Sunday Night NFL matchup between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys.  Las Vegas sportsbooks have listed the Cowboys as 3-point home favorites with the total set at 45.

The New York football Giants (11-2 straight up, 10-3 against the spread) broke a 7-game home winning streak last week losing 20-14 to their division rival, the Philadelphia Eagles.  There are a lot of issues to overcome right now for the Giants including the Plaxico Burress shooting and the loss of their No. 1 running back, Brandon Jacobs.

The Cowboys (8-5 SU, 6-7 ATS) have a bunch of problems of their own.  You knew it wouldn’t be long before WR Terrell Owens became “TO,” his alter ego.  This time he set his sites on his quarterback Tony Romo.  Which is weird because we were still feeling so touched by his, “That’s my quarterback…That’s my teamate” sobfest.  Owens told the Dallas Mourning News, “I’m not jealous of Witten. I’m not jealous of nobody… I just talked to Jason about Tony reading the whole play because other people are open besides Witten.”  Dude…

The Giants have the No. 1 rushing attack (154.6 YPG) in the NFL and are ranked second in time of possession.  These type of stats have led New York to an 8-2 ATS mark in their last 10 games. The Giants have been installed as underdogs only twice this season…first against Philadelphia and last against Pittsburgh.  The main reason for the dog slate tonight is that New York will be without their workhorse RB Brandon Jacobs.  That means Derrick Ward will move to the No. 1 spot on the depth chart against a Cowboy defense that’s giving up 93.9 YPG on the ground.

The Cowboys, however, aren’t without injury.  CB Adam “Pac Man” Jones will miss the rest of the season after being diagnosed with a bulging disk in his neck, RB Marion Barber has been downgraded to ‘questionable’ with a tow injury and wide out Roy Williams is listed as ‘probable’.

Dallas lost to Pittsburgh last week, 20-13 after the Steelers scored 2 touchdowns in 24 seconds during the final moments of the fourth quarter.  Romo threw a pick six to Pittsburgh’s Deshea Townsend which sealed their fate in a very difficult loss.  Since Romo’s return, they are 2-1 and neither of their two wins came against teams that were any good.

The G-Men have been impeccable at covering the spread in almost every conceivable category. New York is 5-1 ATS on the road, 2-0 ATS on turf, 8-1 ATS in its conference and 4-1 ATS in its own division.  The Giants are 14-2 ATS in their last 16 versus a team with a winning record and are 22-6 ATS in their last 28 road games. Dallas enters Sunday night with a 1-7 ATS record in its last eight versus NFC East opponents. Since their last playoff win back in 1996, the Cowboys are 18-32 in December and January football combined.

NFL Pick Of The Day – Seahawks @ Cowboys – Who Covers The Spread

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Happy Thanksgiving to all our members and guests.  Even though many of us are suffering from one of the worst economic downturns on record, we all still have much to be thankful for.  One of the things we are most thankful for is football on TV all day long.  FiveStarPick.com is back on another hot streak winning 6 of our last 7 and we are excited about our two member plays today.  The first of which pairs the Seattle Seahawks with the Dallas Cowboys.  Las Vegas sportsbooks list the Cowboys as 12-point home favorites with the total set at 47.

Dallas (7-4 Straight Up, 5-6 Against The Spread) is an icon on Thanksgiving Day.  In addition, they have a 25-14-1 record with the Turkey dating back to 1966.  What’s more, Dallas has cashed in five straight head-to-head matchups against the Seahawks and in all 5 wins, the Cowboys were an underdog going into every game.

Now, we know what’s on your mind…is Tony Romo healthy?  Romo is back from a broken pinkie and led his team to a much needed win over the Redskins last week.  His return was somewhat shaky throwing for only 198 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT, but on the season Romo has an 18/7 touchdown-interception ratio.  Our contacts in the Cowboy locker room say that Romo looked very sharp in practice and should be 98% come game time.

Seattle (2-9 SU, 4-6-1 ATS) believes they are getting closer to their third win of the season and many top handicappers are saying that the double-digit points are too many to give a 2-9 team this late in the NFL season.  According to inside sources, tensions are high in the Seahawks locker room.  Their last 3 games have been lost by an average margin of 3.7 PPG, but Seattle’s bigger problem is that they are league worst in many important stat categories. Since Week 5 the Seahawks have been out-gained by their opponents at a staggering 186.8 YPG.

The X Factor in this game will be Seattle Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck.  Hasselbeck is recovering from nerve problems in his back and has looked erratic since his return.  What’s more, his completion percentage since his return is only 54.3% and to add insult to serious injury, he has thrown a whopping 5 interceptions.  Seattle is allowing 401.7 passing YPG and if Romo is sharp, the Cowboys will have us sleeping before the Turkey does.

So who covers the spread in today’s game?  Become a member today and find out.  You will quickly learn that FiveStarPick.com is a top NFL Handicapper.  NFL picks are our specialty and have been since we started in the business in 1990.  We cannot believe that was 18 years ago.  Time flies when you’re making money.  Our membership has jumped from 1100 off-season members to over 2300 this football season and it’s for one reason and one reason only…we win!  We are the most accurate sports handicapping service on the net and we will never give you a play that we are not heavily on ourselves.  As a matter of fact, our NFL Picks are so strong that they can move the line up to a full point within seconds of being published to our members.  It’s time to come down off the fence and join for 1 year.  A membership to FiveStarPick.com is only $99.00 a month and it will pay for itself in the 1st week.  We are nearly 65% against the spread in 2008 and our forte, College and NFL Football Picks, are just beginning.  We also handicap baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, golf and racing.  You owe it to yourself to discover the benefits of membership.  Join today and start winning tonight.

Is This The NFL Pick Of The Day? – Cowboys @ Redskins – Who Covers The Spread

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

There has been a big buzz this week about the return of Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo to the starting lineup, but FiveStarPick.com is advising its clients to steer clear of tonight’s matchup.  We know, we know…you think a bad bet is better than no bet at all, right?  Well we don’t gamble our hard earned money for practice.  We gamble to make MONEY!  We eat, we pay our bills, we put our kids in private schools and we have big mortgages.  We also know that many of you will cave to your gambling addiction and put a dime on tonight’s game anyway, but you might as well take that dime and call your local escort service…because at least you know you’re are going to get a happy ending with the hooker.

Most books have made major adjustments to the original 2-point line favoring Washington. As of this morning, Caesars Palace installed Dallas as a 1.5-point road favorite with the total set at 43.  So what does this mean for bettors?  It means that the best handicappers in the world have no idea which way this game will go.  Clinton Portis is probably out because of a sprained knee and Betts will be playing hurt.  Redskins QB Jason Campbell will have no running backs to set up play-action and thus the West Coast Offense will most probably sputter.  If you are betting on Washington, can you pin your hopes of a cover on the newly acquired Shaun Alexander?

Now let’s talk about the still hurt, probably very rusty Tony Romo. The Cowboys QB had thrown 9-TDs and only 2 picks in the 3 weeks leading up to his broken pinky.  Dallas couldn’t be happier to welcome back its stud QB, especially with playoffs on the line and the fact that Brad Johnson and Brooks Bollinger combined for 6 picks and only 3 Tds on 50 passing attempts.  But how effective can Romo be tonight?  He hasn’t taken a snap in weeks and he will be throwing with a cast on his hand.

So who covers the spread in today’s game?  This game is way too close to call.  But why not let FiveStarPick.com help you make money on other games in the NFL today?  Aren’t you tired of getting cold called by services that tell you about their 750,000 star play that’s a guaranteed winner. Here is a bit of advice…NOTHING is guaranteed when you are betting on sports.  These so called “handicappers” call 500 people on a Saturday morning and give them all a free play; 250 people will get the Cowboys -1.5 and 250 will get the Redskins +1.5.  After the game ends, they call back the 250 people who won and pitch them on charging thousands of dollars to their credit cards for more guaranteed winners.   We are not your typical sports handicapping service.  We care about our members and we live and die on every play. Why?  Because we are moving thousands of dollars of our own money on the same plays we give you. Gambling on sports is how we make our living.  Do we win every play?  Absolutely not and we will never pretend to.  Our plays are always posted for all to see, including our losing streaks. But by the end of the year we always seem to have a few hundred thousand dollars of the sportsbook’s money in our casino account.  Let us try and do the same for you.  Join our family of winners today and start your winning streak tonight.

NFL Pick Of The Day – Redskins @ Cowboys – Who Covers The Spread

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

FiveStarPick.com is fired up about today.  As a matter of fact, we are so fired up that we are giving our members an unprecedented eight (8) plays today.  The subject of our FiveStarPick of the day is this afternoon’s matchup between the Redskins and the Cowboys.

Las Vegas sportsbooks opened the line at 8 with the total set at 46.5.  Bettors from around the world have moved so much money on the Cowboys this week that the line has chased all the way to 12.

Dallas has not covered the spread in its last four home games against NFC East rivals.  Washington is 2-2 straight up in the division, but 3-1 against the spread in those contests.  The under went 3-1 as well, so take that for whatever its worth; And how about this…the Cowboys are 1-5 ATS in their last six matches against Washington.

FiveStarPick.com loves to handicap the NFL.  It is our specialty and we have been steadily getting more proficient every year since we started in the business in 1990.  We cannot believe that was 18 years ago.  Time flies when you’re making money.  Our membership has jumped from 600 off-season members to over 1900 this football season and it’s for one reason and one reason only…we win! A one year membership is only $99.00 and it will pay for itself in the 1st week.  We are nearly 65% against the spread in 2008 and our forte, College and NFL Football Picks, are just beginning.  You owe it to yourself to discover the benefits of membership.  Join today and start winning tonight.
