Westwood vs. Mickelson – Final Round Masters Picks – Lines and Odds

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

The pros at FiveStarPick.com are looking forward to the final round of the 2010 Masters.  And why wouldn’t we be after going 4-0 this year in Masters betting matchups for our members.  Today we are handicapping the final round matchup between Lee Westwood and Phil Mickelson.  Las Vegas sportsbooks list Phil Mickelson as the favorite at -140 (risk $140 to win $100), while Lee Westwood is at +110 (risk $100 to win $110).

Saturday at The Masters saw Tiger Woods clawing his way back into contention after losing his cool early on.  Westwood, on the other hand, fired a four-under-par 68 to post a 12-under total of 204.

Mickelson, a two-time Masters champion, carded a 67 and is one shot behind Westwood at -11.  World number one Woods and his playing partner KJ Choi of South Korea are both at eight under par after carding matching 70s.

Calm conditions, receptive greens and several accessible pins resulted in aggressive shot-making as the majestic Georgian pines at Augusta resonated with loud roars for birdies and eagles.

In Sunday’s final round, Westwood will have to execute in the company of Mickelson, who thrilled the crowds Saturday by covering 13, 14 and 15 in 5-under par.  He became only the third player to record successive eagles when he holed out from 141 yards at the par-four 14th, his ball pitching six feet beyond the hole before rolling back down the slope into the cup.  Mickelson, who had knocked in a six-footer to eagle the par-five 13th, raised his arms skywards in disbelief as the crowd packed around the green roared its approval.

Woods, playing his first tournament in nearly five months after getting caught with his dong in the cookie jar was delighted to be in contention for a 15th major title.
