The pros at FiveStarPick.com are really hot this year…I mean really hot going 9-1 against the spread in our last 10 member plays. Today we will be giving our members the spread winner of the Boston Celtics and the Orlando Magic. Las Vegas sportsbooks list the Magic as 6.5-point home favorites in Game 1 with a total of 189.
Three of the four regular season meetings stayed ‘under’ the closing total and the lone ‘over’ cashed by a half-point. The ‘under’ went 5-2 in these two teams last playoff meeting, with the total ranging from 187 to 194.
All of the games in the Eastern Conference Finals will be played on one day of rest except Game 3, in which these teams will get three days rest. Boston (6-4 Straight Up, 5-4 Against The Spread) has been up and down in the 2010 NBA Playoffs, but Orlando (7-0 SU, 6-1 Against The Spread) has been unstoppable, winning by an average of 21 PPG (110-89).
In last year’s NBA Finals, Orlando proved a legit playoff contender taking the L.A. Lakers to six games. Now the Magic are better on both ends of the floor, they are healthier and have a much deeper bench. Orlando is firing on all cylinders with Dwight Howard dunks and 3-pointers raining from everywhere, but don’t forget that Stan Van Gundy’s team is great defensively as well. There is no question that the Celtics have the talent to win this series, but the depth on the bench will be their Achille’s heal.
So what does all this mean? Who will cover the spread tonight? It is not your job to analyze these stats and trends, it’s ours. This is our life and our living. The pros at FiveStarPick.com are heating up again with spread winners for our members in 8 of our last 9. Tonight we are confident in our play on Game 6 of the NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs as the Cleveland Cavaliers travel to Boston to take on the Celtics. Las Vegas sportsbooks list the Celtics as 1-point home favorites with a total of 196.
Boston crushed the Cavaliers in Game 5 with a 32-point (120-88) road victory, the worst playoff loss by Cleveland in their history. Their was a bright side, however. FiveStar members didn’t need the 7.5 points to get their cash. Our only regret is that we didn’t take the money line at 3 to 1.
Cleveland shot 41 percent in Game 5, compared to the 55 percent they shot in Boston. All five starters for the Celtics were in double figures, led by Ray Allen’s 26 points, 18 of which were from behind the arc and Glen Davis was huge in the win with 15 points off the bench.
The Celtics definitely put together a winning game-plan for Game 5, but the biggest news of the night was LeBron James. The two-time league MVP had one of the worst outings of his career, scoring only 15 points on 3-of-14 shooting. Some critics say that if the Cavs lose tonight, Cleveland fans might have seen LeBron play his last game in a Cavs jersey.
Before you start looking ahead to a Magic-Celtics series, remember that Boston was in the same exact position last season, when they led Orlando 3-2 in the conference semi-finals. The Magic won Game 6, then stunned the locals at TD Garden in Game 7 with a 19-point (101-82) win to advance.

Congratulations to all our members on another 2-0 against the spread night as we gave our members the Celtics +6.5 and the Suns -4. Tonight we are giving our members the spread winner of Jazz/Lakers and Hawks/Magic. Las Vegas sportsbooks list the Lakers as 6-point home favorites with a total of 199.5.
Kobe Bryant and the Lakers managed to defend their home court in game 1 against the Utah Jazz, but it wasn’t easy. Utah held the lead with minutes remaining before the Lakers came back and stole the show.
Kobe Bryant elevated his play with 11 points in the final 4 minutes of Game 1 to finish with a team high 31 points; even with a bum knee.
On the trend side, Phil Jackson is 45-0 for his career when he wins the first game of any series.
Utah may get a jolt on defence Thursday as Andrei Kirilenko might return to the lineup. However Kirilenko’s effectiveness could be suspect as he has almost missed two months with a left calf injury. The Jazz can steal game 2 if their defence can contain the Laker’s starting 5, however Utah has had trouble on the road all year going only 21-20 against the spread in the regular season as visitors.

The Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers will start Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Semifinal series on Monday, May 3rd at 8:00 p.m. EST on TNT. The Cavaliers took Game 1, 101-93, and are 6.5-point home favorites in Game 2 tonight with a total of 191.5.
Cleveland was getting spanked by the Celtics throughout much of Game 1, but Mo Williams slammed a breakaway home that fueled a game-ending 43-24 run. Winning Game 1 is a good sign for Cleveland as it is 10-0 in playoff series after a Game 1 victory.
If Boston is going to cover the spread in Game 2, it is going to need to step up its defense; and they certainly can’t let the Cavs score 100 points in a game. Boston played well enough offensively to win with four of five starters in double figures, but allowing LeBron James to score 35 points a game will mean certain elimination for the green and white.
The pros at FiveStarPick.com are on an incredible run going 38-4-3 against the spread in our last 45 games. We gave our members the Celtics +8 in Game 1 and pushed. Last night our members had a 2-0 night and cashed big tickets with the Hawks -9 and the Over 199 in Game 1 of the Jazz Lakers.

FiveStarPick.com will be giving its members two (2) plays today. The first is the focus of today’s preview as the Cleveland Cavaliers travel to Orlando for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Its win or go home for the Cavaliers tonight and Las Vegas sportsbooks have responded listing the Magic as 2-point home favorites with a total of 192.
Last Thursday night in Game 5, Cleveland blew a 22-point lead even falling behind in the third quarter. But LeBron wasn’t about to let his team lose at home. King James roasted the fourth quarter with 17 points to will his team to a 112-102 victory. For the first time in the series and in the last 10 head-to-head meetings against Orlando, the Cavs beat the spread as 8-point home favorites. The combined 214 points went over the 190 ½-point total.
The King ended up with his fourth career playoff triple-double with 37 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists. Mo Williams added 24 points and Ilgauskas went down for 16. Cleveland (76-19 straight up, 58-36-1 against the spread) had the lead at halftime, 56-55, but Orlando got hot. Dwight Howard finished with 24 points, while Hedo Turkoglu had 29 points. The 29-point effort was a career-best for Turkoglu during the postseason. Rashard Lewis also showed up with 15 points, eight rebounds and four steals.
Now let’s talk trends…The Magic have hosted Cleveland four times this year, going a perfect 4-0 both straight up and against the spread. The Magic are 38-11 SU and 28-21 against the spread at home. The Cavs are 31-16 SU and 26-21-1 against the spread on the road and have a 6-7 against the spread record in 13 underdog spots (both home and away) this year. This is just the second time Cleveland has been an underdog in the playoffs, losing 99-89 at Orlando as a 1 ½-point ‘dog in Game 3.
