Is This The NFL Pick Of The Day? – Cowboys @ Redskins – Who Covers The Spread

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

There has been a big buzz this week about the return of Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo to the starting lineup, but FiveStarPick.com is advising its clients to steer clear of tonight’s matchup.  We know, we know…you think a bad bet is better than no bet at all, right?  Well we don’t gamble our hard earned money for practice.  We gamble to make MONEY!  We eat, we pay our bills, we put our kids in private schools and we have big mortgages.  We also know that many of you will cave to your gambling addiction and put a dime on tonight’s game anyway, but you might as well take that dime and call your local escort service…because at least you know you’re are going to get a happy ending with the hooker.

Most books have made major adjustments to the original 2-point line favoring Washington. As of this morning, Caesars Palace installed Dallas as a 1.5-point road favorite with the total set at 43.  So what does this mean for bettors?  It means that the best handicappers in the world have no idea which way this game will go.  Clinton Portis is probably out because of a sprained knee and Betts will be playing hurt.  Redskins QB Jason Campbell will have no running backs to set up play-action and thus the West Coast Offense will most probably sputter.  If you are betting on Washington, can you pin your hopes of a cover on the newly acquired Shaun Alexander?

Now let’s talk about the still hurt, probably very rusty Tony Romo. The Cowboys QB had thrown 9-TDs and only 2 picks in the 3 weeks leading up to his broken pinky.  Dallas couldn’t be happier to welcome back its stud QB, especially with playoffs on the line and the fact that Brad Johnson and Brooks Bollinger combined for 6 picks and only 3 Tds on 50 passing attempts.  But how effective can Romo be tonight?  He hasn’t taken a snap in weeks and he will be throwing with a cast on his hand.

So who covers the spread in today’s game?  This game is way too close to call.  But why not let FiveStarPick.com help you make money on other games in the NFL today?  Aren’t you tired of getting cold called by services that tell you about their 750,000 star play that’s a guaranteed winner. Here is a bit of advice…NOTHING is guaranteed when you are betting on sports.  These so called “handicappers” call 500 people on a Saturday morning and give them all a free play; 250 people will get the Cowboys -1.5 and 250 will get the Redskins +1.5.  After the game ends, they call back the 250 people who won and pitch them on charging thousands of dollars to their credit cards for more guaranteed winners.   We are not your typical sports handicapping service.  We care about our members and we live and die on every play. Why?  Because we are moving thousands of dollars of our own money on the same plays we give you. Gambling on sports is how we make our living.  Do we win every play?  Absolutely not and we will never pretend to.  Our plays are always posted for all to see, including our losing streaks. But by the end of the year we always seem to have a few hundred thousand dollars of the sportsbook’s money in our casino account.  Let us try and do the same for you.  Join our family of winners today and start your winning streak tonight.

NFL Pick Of The Day – Patriots @ Chargers – Who Covers The Spread

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

FiveStarPick.com enters this Sunday coming off of a solid 4-2 Saturday in college football.  So let’s make some money.  Today our members are getting plays on the entire Sunday line-up.  We went 6-2 on the 1:00 games last Sunday and today should be no different.  For the purposes of this preview, we look to Sunday Night Football on NBC.  The Patriots, granted, are not the same team without Brady, but make no mistake about it, this is a critical game for both ball clubs.

San Diego (2-3 straight up, 2-2-1 against the spread) could easily be 4-1, maybe even 5-0 this year.  But the Chargers can’t start making excuses.  The bottom line is that they let Miami run up 390 total yards of offense and convert 50 percent (7/14) of their 3rd downs. Despite the poor effort at Dolphin Stadium, San Diego is still averaging 29.6 points per game, 4th in the league, but Charger QB Philip Rivers hasn’t been on top of his game this year with only 11 TDs and a completion percentage of 60.4%; and Tomlinson is only averaging 3.7 yards per carry with 4 TDs.  The Charger defense hasn’t been very good either giving up 25.8 PPG.

The Patriots (3-1 SU, 2-2 ATS) stomped the 49ers 30-21 as 3-point road favorites last week.  New England’s defense was the story last week as they held the 49ers to 199 total yards and forced J.T. O’Sullivan to throw 3 interceptions. The win and effort were much needed after giving up 461 total yards and 38 points to Miami in Week 3.

Lets take a look at some trends.  New England is 2-0 SU and ATS on the road this year.  San Diego is 1-1 SU and ATS at Qualcomm Stadium this year and the over is 2-0. New England has won the last three meetings between these two teams including a 21-12 victory in last year’s AFC Championship game.

So who covers the spread in today’s game?  Why not let FiveStarPick.com help you with the answer?  Aren’t you tired of getting cold called by services that tell you about their 750,000 star play that’s a guaranteed winner. Here is a bit of advice…NOTHING is guaranteed when you are betting on sports.  These so called “handicappers” call 500 people on a Sunday morning and give them all a free play; 250 people will get the Patriots +5 and 250 will get the Chargers -5.  After the game ends, they call back the 250 people who won and pitch them on charging thousands of dollars on their credit cards for more guaranteed winners. NFL Pick Of The Day – Steelers @ Eagles – Who Covers The Spread

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

It’s any given Sunday in the NFL and FiveStarPick.com has been crunching stats, trends and injury reports since last Monday night.  The pros at FiveStarPick.com formulate their own point spreads and we believe there are 4 games today that Vegas has dead wrong.  The focus of our preview today is the Sunday afternoon game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles now have a healthy Donovan McNabb and their offense is firing on all cylinders. The Pittsburgh Steelers, on the other hand, are hoping Ben Roethlisberger will even be able to play.  In addition, the Steelers haven’t won on the road in Philadelphia in 43 years.

In 2008, McNabb has had incredible numbers.  He is 46-70 for 642 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INTs and has a passer rating of 114.  He threw for 281 yards and a TD Monday night at Dallas, but a crucial turnover led to a Cowboys touchdown and a 41-37 loss.

Rookie WR DeSean Jackson had 6 catches for 106 yards against the Rams, then had 6 more catches for 110 yards against Dallas.  Jackson could have had a touchdown if he hadn’t acted like such a punk and dropped the ball at the 1 yard line during a premature end-zone celebration.  Dude…  Despite the rookie mistake, McNabb feels confident that he has a new weapon in DeSean.

FiveStarPick.com loves to handicap the NFL.  It is our specialty and we have been steadily getting more proficient every year since we started in the business in 1990.  We cannot believe that was 18 years ago.  Time flies when you’re making money.  Our membership has jumped from 600 off-season members to over 1900 this football season and it’s for one reason and one reason only…we win!  We are the most accurate sports handicapping service on the net and we will never give you a play that we are not heavily on ourselves.  As a matter of fact, our NFL Picks are so strong that they can move the line up to a full point within seconds of being published to our members.  It’s time to come down off the fence and join for 1 year.  A one year membership is only $99.00 and it will pay for itself in the 1st week.  We are nearly 65% against the spread in 2008 and our forte, College and NFL Football Picks, are just beginning.  You owe it to yourself to discover the benefits of membership.  Join today and start winning tonight.
